Name: Chris Sobray
Title: Product Manager
Describe your role: As a product manager I work directly with our clients to assist in delivering their product vision. Day to day, I interact with engineers and experts within the organization to plan work and refine requirements in an attempt to capture every last detail of a feature or function. I've worked closely with clients to deliver different types of technologies ranging from mobile apps to public facing websites, on up to enterprise grade tracking and reporting systems.
Where are you located? Denton, TX
Where did you study? I received my BBA in Marketing a scholar's certificate for expertise in New Product Development from the University of North Texas.
What do you like best about working at Camber? The flexible asynchronous work environment helps me maintain a quality of life that I did not know was possible. I really enjoy the ability to work with fantastic clients to help support and deliver their vision to the market.
What are you passionate about? My passion is definitely music. I played trumpet in the marching band for 4 years in high school, and 3 years in college. I spend lots of time attending shows for local and big name bands and love the culture around the music scene. I'm also a huge advocate and supporter of local and non-profit radio.
Favorite Camber moment: Coming into a new organization is always difficult and poses challenges. However, Camber has not only accepted my feedback but taken it to heart. They have done everything possible to make sure my experience is positive and that I have whatever support I need. It has made me so very confident that Camber is one of the best places to work and a perfect fit for me!
What do you like to do outside of work? I love to travel and go camping at state parks around Texas. I enjoy attending and watching car races but I do not like Nascar. I attend local music shows and events around town every week. I like spending time on the lake with friends and family and spending time outdoors. I'm a bit of a DIY enthusiast and like to learn new skills around car mechanics and woodworking.
What types of projects did you work on before finding Camber? Before joining Camber, I helped launch a cloud product offering for a traditional hardware telecom company. I managed a mobile application for a large lender with a reach of over 600k customers. I supported the development and launch of several internal document and process tracking tools for retail organizations to support and assist in managing their day to day work. I also successfully transitioned 60% of lending transactions to digital disbursements and away from traditional check disbursements for a large lending firm.
